Thanksgiving: Artesanato com prendedor de roupas

Material necessário: 

. 01 prendedor de roupas de madeira;

. 01 folha de imã para geladeira;

. Tinta guache na cor marrom;

. Papel cartão nas cores marrom, azul, vermelho, amarelo e outras cores, se desejar.

. Cola;

. Tesoura;

. Olhinhos para boneca (aqueles que se movem) número 3 (os mais pequenininhos).

Como montar:
1. Pinte o prendedor de roupas com o guache marrom e deixe secar;
2. Recorte um pedaço de aproximadamente 2 cm de papel cartão vermelho e faça um formato de coração (será a papada abaixo do bico).
3. Dobre um pedaço de aproximadamente 2 cm de papel cartão ao meio e recorte um pequeno triângulo (vai ser o bico do seu peru, deverá ser colado no prendedor);
4. Coloque o formato de coração com o bico virado para cima e cole no bico o pequeno triângulo aberto;
5. Recorte pequenos retângulos de aproximadamente 5 cm com todas as cores de papel. Em seguida, faça um formato de círculo em uma das extremidades e cole uma tirinha na outra em forma de leque  (será a cauda, que deverá ser colada na parte de trás da prendedor).
6. Recorte um pequeno pedaço da folha de imã de geladeira e fixe nas costas do peru;
7. Por último, cole o par de olhinhos e, se quiser, desenhe pés e outros detalhes.

Está pronto o seu peru. Agora é só comemorar: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

O Thanskgiving, dia de ação de graças, é celebrado nos Estados Unidos na última quinta-feira do mês de novembro. Começou a ser comemorado no ano de 1621 em Plymouth em agradecimento às boas colheitas feitas durante aquele, mas só foi instituído como feriado nacional em 1863, por Abraham Lincoln. O prato tradicional do dia de ação de graças é o peru. Durante esse dia, as pessoas se reúnem com a família e agradecem a Deus pelos bons resultados alcançados no ano.

Enfeites de Halloween com reciclados

Juntei latas de leite em pó e rolinhos de papel higiênico para fazer alguns enfeites de Halloween.

Pesquisando na internet, encontrei um blog legal que mostra o passo a passo para fazer um frankenstein com lata reciclada e EVA:  http://www.cosascositasycosotasconmesh.com/2013/09/manualidades-halloween-con-latas.html. Dele, retirei a ideia para criar o meu monstrinho, abaixo:

Porém, adaptei um pouco o meu frankenstein: Pintei a lata com tinta verde para tecido. Fiz os olhos, orelhas e cabelo com EVA. 

Material necessário: 01 lata vazia de leite em pó com a tampa. 01 cola para EVA, 01 tinta verde, EVA preto, verde claro e verde escuro, 01 tesoura, 01 porção de criatividade.

Aproveitei a ideia e fiz também uma abóbora de halloween com lata de leite. O material é o mesmo, só a tinta que muda para a cor abóbora.

O resultado:

Com os rolinhos de papel higiênico, usei cola quente, tinta guache e olhinhos móveis e fixos para artesanato.

1o: Pinte os rolinhos de papel higiênico na cor desejada
2o: Corte uma tira de EVA de 2,5 cm por 17 cm (ou o suficiente para dar a volta no rolinho)
3o: Corte pequenos triângulo da tira, de modo a fazer o cabelinho e cole a tira de EVA no rolinho.
4o Fixe os olhos com cola quente e desenhe com canetinha ou caneta permanente os demais detalhes do monstrinho, como nos exemplos abaixo:

Também usei um pequeno galho, no qual pendurei balões (vazios) na cor preta e abóbora, pedaços de manta acrílica (para fazer a teia de aranha), pedaços de gaze (fantasminhas)

Finger puppets as a tool to teach English for very young kids

Finger puppets to help you teach English for very youg kids

My kids simple love it and, like me, you can make it yourself without any extreme creativity. Just google it at the internet and you can find many different models you can copy.

What will you need: Time to try and throw away what is inappropriate and courage to continue trying. Don't give up!

Seriously speaking, what will you need: hot glue gun, scissors, fabric glue, instant glue, extra materials (plastic eyes, plastic mouths, nose, if you wish to give it professional appearance, if not, you can use your own creativity to creat)

What will you need: Felt (or fabric) of different colors for the body, paws, ears, belly... etc

If you want to leave stitches showing, you will need a needle and some sewing lines.
You will also need paint or markers to paint on the eyes or extra features of finger puppets. But you can buy eyes and just glue them.

What can you teach using finger puppets?

Basically, whatever you have in mind!

- Music: Save your face. Kids imagine animals are singing, not you! So, some silly musics for kids can be presented easily this way ;-)

- Numbers: use the puppets to change your voice and pretend you are the animal speaking while you say the numbers and kids repeat. You can also ask students to count the number of animals you show them;
- Greetings and Farewells: use the animal to mime a pair greeting themselves while you say them and kids repeat. They can also mime the voice of animals;
- Days of the week: pretend the animals are saying them and make kids repeat. You can also add easy sentences so that kids can learn easily: I like Monday, I like Tuesday, My favorite is Sunday, My favorite is Friday etc...
- Months of the year: Proceed like you did with week days;
- Likes and dislikes:  Teach kids "I like" and "I don't like" and the name of animals;
- Grammar: singular and plural (one cat, two cats; one frog, two frogs); grammar in context of stories;
- Vocabulary: colors of the animals presented; 
- Vocabulary: name of the animals (or other names) presented;

• Those presented above are just ideas I had while working with animal finger puppets. I am doing like this and it is working with my students. Maybe with yours it works too :-)
•  
• Final tip:  Kids will want to handle the puppets.
•  If you don't allow, it will function as flashcards do and probably kids will lose the interest for the activity as they lose for flashcards as well. So, if this is your intention, better use flashcards, that are much easier to make and cheaper to buy.
• If you decided to let kids handle puppets, be prepared! They will destroy in minutes your cute finger puppets that took you hours of preparation. But certainly soon after being highly motivated... So, it pays the effort.
